A message from our CEO, Mike George

Welcome to Tokio Marine Canada (TMCAN). We are a new Canadian start-up Property and Casualty insurance company which is part of the Tokio Marine global family and, as such, we belong to one of the largest and most recognized insurance brands in the world.

We strive To Be A Good Company, doing our part for customers and society in their times of need.

As a new entrant to the Canadian insurance marketplace, we aspire to deliver on the traits associated with successful new companies – an entrepreneurial spirit, being solutions oriented with a sense of urgency in all we do, innovative and agile – coupled with the advantages of being part of a world-wide insurance powerhouse with significant capital, capacity, and global capabilities.

Tokio Marine has actually operated in Canada for more than 60 years as a branch of Tokio Marine Nichido Fire, predominantly concentrating on serving the needs of Japanese clients.  TMCAN’s sister companies, Tokio Marine Kiln and Tokio Marine HCC, both currently operate in Canada via Lloyd’s. While all three related entities will continue to operate as they have historically, we believe that to successfully maximize our footprint in Canada, the best way forward is through the establishment, licensing and capitalization of TMCAN.

We recognize that we must serve the needs of both our ultimate customers and their brokers.  We are a broker focused company and brokers bring us their business seeking guidance, expertise, solutions and when the rubber hits the road, excellence in claims handling.

We have built our company on a foundation of seasoned industry veterans, the majority of whom have significant experience in both hard and soft markets.
